Meet Our Staff
Rev. Matt Moeller
Matt was born in South Africa to American Missionaries. He spent his childhood attending church plants in Zulu townships, where he was saved at an early age under the ministry of his father. As a teenager, Matt had the opportunity to visit Scotland, and the Lord planted a seed in his heart for the country.
When Matt was fifteen years old, he first felt God’s call to full-time ministry. After graduating high school, he attended Bible College in the United States where he met his wife, Ericka. They were married shortly after graduating and began to serve on the Pastoral staff of a church in Missouri. While serving on staff at the church, the seed that the Lord had planted for Scotland began to grow in Matt’s heart, and he prayed, “Lord, if you want me to be in Scotland, I need you to open a door for me.” God answered by opening a door in the village of Hopeman, where Matt has now served as the Pastor of Hopeman Baptist Church since 2015.

Ericka came to know Jesus as her Saviour at 8 years old. She grew up attending a Baptist church that often had missionaries come through and speak to the congregation. At the age of 13, Ericka knew that God wanted her not only to be in the ministry, but to do this in a foreign country. When it was time to attend University, Ericka went to Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, and it was there that she met Matt Moeller.
Over the next few years, the couple started a family, and prayed about where God would want them to live and minister. It became apparent to both of them that Scotland is where God wanted them to go.
Ericka now serves happily beside her husband at Hopeman Baptist Church. She leads a Ladies Bible study, a kids club, and teaches Sunday School. She is also happy to use her musical talents to sing when the opportunity arises. In her own words, “I feel truly blessed by God to be living and serving in the village of Hopeman, Scotland.”
