Prayerfully Seeking A Passionate Baptist Minister
Are you a minister with a passion for nurturing spiritual growth, spreading the word of God and a heart for community? Are you ready to embark on a unique and rewarding journey in a picturesque village on the Moray Firth coast? We’d love to hear from you!
Our historic Baptist congregation, nestled in a charming 126-year-old church, is seeking a dedicated individual to serve as minister for our congregation. As minister you will be responsible for providing spiritual leadership, guidance, and pastoral care to our community in accordance with Baptist beliefs and values.
About Us
Hopeman Baptist Church has been a cornerstone of faith and fellowship in our fishing village for over a century, providing a place of worship, support, and connection for generations. We are a small and tight-knit congregation currently in a challenging season without a pastor and are eager to welcome a minister who shares our commitment to serving others and spreading God's love.
One of our goals as a church is to foster authentic relationships with one another. We view the church as a family, so we aim to find ways to connect people with one another and help them to build real friendships whether that’s through our Sunday services, weekly prayer meeting, Women’s Bible study or fortnightly Friendship Group.
About the Role
As our minister (either full-time or part-time), you will have the opportunity to:
-
Preach and Teach: Deliver engaging and biblically sound sermons and teachings that inspire, challenge, and edify the congregation.
-
Pastoral Care: Provide spiritual counselling, support, and guidance to individuals and families in times of need and celebration.
-
Leadership: Lead and collaborate with church deacons and members to plan and implement ministry programs, events, and initiatives that promote spiritual growth and community involvement fostering growth of our congregation.
-
Discipleship: Facilitate opportunities for discipleship, mentorship, and spiritual formation to help individuals deepen their relationship with God and grow in their faith journey.
-
Outreach and Evangelism: Develop and implement strategies for reaching out to the surrounding community, attracting new members, and sharing the gospel message in a relevant and compelling manner.
-
Collaboration: Foster a spirit of unity, cooperation, and mutual respect among church deacons, members and adherents promoting a culture of love, grace, and servant leadership.
Desired Qualifications
-
A strong commitment to Baptist principles and a qualification in theology.
-
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
-
Experience in evangelism and growing church congregations.
-
A heart for community engagement and outreach.
-
The ability to connect with people and collaborate in a meaningful way.
-
A spirit of adaptability and resilience.
